Finding the Tools for Transformation
Jason found Rippleacts in the Summer of 2024 after he found himself stuck in a rut. Spending his days isolated in his room playing video games and taking recreational drugs, he felt depressed and like he was losing hope in his ability to change.

‘I wasn’t really getting out and doing anything for about three or four years…I couldn’t get what I needed within myself to get back out of that.’ He also struggled with his living situation, feeling suffocated and isolated in a house share in which he didn’t even have access to a kitchen or laundry facilities. For Jason, one of his biggest challenges had been finding a sense of direction and figuring out what he should be doing. Whilst uncertain and sceptical at first, he found a collage activity with the coaching group particularly useful:
It prompted me to think, having that all laid out in front of you, what your values are and what’s important to you helped me to clarify things in my head.’
Following the coaching sessions, Jason moved onto a Ripple project which changed his life in ways he couldn’t have anticipated. Once completed, the project lead offered Jason a job doing DIY and home maintenance, giving him the opportunity to save some money and move out from his current house. This new start gave him the chance and motivation to see friends, volunteer, take part in hobbies and exercise more, even going for a 44-mile bike ride: ‘I look back to six months ago and how I thought things would never get better…without Rippleacts, I could well still be in my room just playing on my computer. Without working I wouldn’t have been able to move and that would have contributed to still being in
that other place, not feeling great about myself.’
Rippleacts helped Jason discover and further develop his skills and remove the blocks
stopping him from seeing his true potential. As he put it,
‘It was an unexpected path
towards change.’
