What we do
Our work is based on three elements we believe are key to achieving lasting positive change:
-
Perception: Understanding and using the powerful influence we have on our thoughts and experiencing how “making friends with our brain” can create a chain of positive ripple effects in our lives.
-
Practice: Building expertise and confidence through "doing" and keeping at it .
-
Peers: Feeling accompanied and supported by others on a similar journey.
Based on these principles, our support offer comprises 4 components:
Our Coaching Offer
We offer group and individual coaching sessions to anyone who would like to gain more clarity about their goals and personal path, and/or struggles with lack of self-confidence, fear of failure and negative self-beliefs. Our coaching follows a cognitive-behavioural approach and has the objective to help our clients (re-) connect to their inner strength and purpose, improve their wellbeing and take positive action towards achieving their goals.
We use an array of tools including active listening and mindfulness techniques, fairy tales, creative and reflective exercises, teaching basic concepts of psychology and neuroscience, self-coaching tools, and much more. Our group and individual coaching packages are always tailored to the individual demand and situation of our clients.
For long-term unemployed people, we offer regular 8-week group coaching courses, complemented by in-depth 1:1 coaching, free of charge.
Initial evaluation results show an improvement in confidence, wellbeing and reduced fear of failure, as well as a reported general positive change in the lives of our coaching clients, following their participation. See more in our impact section here.
Our next coaching course starts in September 2024. Registrations are now open. See below for more on our upcoming activities.

Our Ripple Projects
Our Ripple Projects are small hands-on projects which we deliver for free for non-profit organisations in Norfolk; in order to help them enhance their social impact. By applying and developing their skills for a good cause, our coaching participants build confidence while making tangible positive "ripple" impact in their local community.
Projects usually take place in 8-12 weekly sessions of 4 hours. A team of our long-term unemployed participants works under the guidance and supervision of a professional maintenance firm, and in close coordination with our pro bono client, to plan and implement an agreed project. The Ripple projects are entirely for free for our clients.
Examples of our projects include the conversion of a storage room into a stylish, fully equipped training venue, and creating an accessible outdoor community lounge.
We are now open to expressions of interest from Norfolk-based non-profit organisations all year round. We will regularly assess your ideas jointly with our participants and fundraise to make the selected projects happen.
See more information on our projects below, and complete a short expression of interest form to let us know your ideas!

Work Experience Opportunity
Ripple Project: Upgrading Puppet Theatre in West Runton
We have a few spaces left on our next "Ripple" project, where we jointly create an agreed product for a local non-profit organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for long-term unemployed people in Norfolk to gain skills, work experience and self-confidence.
The Puppet Tree is an arts and theatre social enterprise located in West Runton, North Norfolk. They run accessible puppet-based workshops that involve drama, storytelling, and other art forms for the community; with a special mission to reach marginalised children who are disabled, ill, neurodivergent or from low-income families with the aim of improving their well-being.
Over the next 2-3 months, a team of our participants will work under professional guidance to help the Puppet Tree team transform and improve her premises. This is entirely for free for the Puppet Tree, and will give them the opportunity to expand their creative offer.
Tasks include maintenance and woodwork, painting and decorating, but can also be shaped according to participants' individual interests (e.g. artistic, admin, budgeting or documenting tasks). The hands-on work is accompanied by 1:1 coaching.
When? Starting asap, for 8-12 weeks (one morning/week)
How much time does this involve? The project will take place in weekly sessions over 8-12 weeks (Thursday mornings). One session takes approx. 4 hours, including a lunch break.
Where? The Puppet Tree, 9 Station Rd, West Runton, Cromer, NR27 9QD (next to West Runton train station)
How will I get there? Either via car share or train, depending on the final team. Travel expenses can be covered.
Who? The project will be led by Red Hammer Residential, a local maintenance firm.
What skills do I need?
None! If you are interested and committed to showing up, that's all we need. We'll decide on the exact works to be done once the team is defined and we know everyone's skills and learning interests.
What will I get out of it?
All expenses, including transport/travel, lunch, PPE where necessary, and materials will be covered. You will design and plan the work together and deliver a finished product to the organisation at the end, which we will celebrate together.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain work experience, learn and/or foster skills and do something hands-on which will have a lasting positive impact for disadvantaged groups in rural Norfolk. It is usually also good fun! You can read about our previous projects here.
